Course Description:
Perspective has always been the foundation of urban landscape drawing, yet few truly understand the principles of working with space. It’s far more than just a horizon line and vanishing points. Perspective is a powerful tool that not only helps depict space but also allows you to manipulate it for maximum emotional impact in your drawings. Without a solid grasp of these fundamentals, creating a convincing sketch is nearly impossible.
This course will guide you through the essential secrets of space and perspective in a simple and engaging format. Prepare for countless “aha!” moments — you’ll soon see urban landscapes with entirely new eyes.

Testimonials
Terri Kamm
I liked the weekly course with homework. It's one thing to watch prepared videos on the subject of perspective and imagine that you know what to do. It was good to actually practice it and get guidance from Michael. And he told us many drawing tricks to use to simplify perspective, going well beyond what is in his "Lord of Illusions" Book (also recommended!)

Thank you Michael for creating The Urban Sketching and Perspective Course. I was always intimidated by perspective. Your explanations were easy to understand, and if anyone didn’t quite "get it", you wouldn’t continue until we did. Your patience and passion made my learning experience so enjoyable. I looked forward to doing my homework and hearing your critiques. Now I know about one, two and three point perspective, how to use that important cube and draw cylinders and ellipses. Seeing what my work looked like when I started and how I progressed in just 8 weeks was thrilling. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone interested in learning about Perspective and wants to have a great time learning.

Lots of exercises, always correcting, demonstrating, and giving feedback on our homeworks. All of it makes this class great and its contents are mandatory. I regret not taking it sooner. The touch of good humor makes it even better to enjoy! Class gave strong foundational lessons and was enjoyable. Thank you !:)

An inspiring teacher who doesn’t just explain technique, but helps you truly feel the medium and believe in yourself. After the courses, I understand much better what I’m doing and why, and I feel far more confident overall.
